SSR Laser Treatment

SSR Laser Treatment

Whether your concern is ageing, acne or age spots, SSR can help deliver your desired outcome.

SSR uses Skinpulse laser technology to combat a variety of skin issues by hitting them at their root cause. By emitting safe, high energy light directly into your problem area(s), SSR can be used for the following:

  • reducing the signs of ageing, such as wrinkles and age spots
  • treating benign skin pigments
  • combating acne conditions
  • treating rosacea
  • removing vascular lesions and thread veins
how does SSR Laser Treatment work?

Skinpulse Super Rejuvenation (SSR) Laser Treatment emits high-energy pulses of light into the skin, which can treat and even reverse a number of concerns.

These include:

1. Acne

The high energy light of SSR tackles “propionic bacteria” that causes the inflammation in acne. It also reduces the size of the sebaceous glands in your skin and regulates the amount of sebum (oil) those glands produce.

To explain in more detail, porphyrins (naturally occurring molecules in the inflamed acne) absorb light in the blue wavelength spectrum, which produces heat. This is known as a “photo-thermal process”. Chemical substances are released, which can selectively destroy the propioni bacteria. The result is clearer, trouble-free skin.

2. Facial rejuvenation and wrinkle reduction

SSR IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology can help restore plumpness and elasticity to your face by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin in your skin. The light energy pulses are converted into heat and focused on your skin’s deepest layers. This simple process stimulates the formation of new collagen fibres and elastin, which provides your skin with strength and laxity. Over time, your result is skin that is healthier, stronger and more youthful.

3. Pigmentation, age spots and rosacea

Benign skin pigmentations can also be treated very efficiently using SSR’s laser technology. When excessive pigments are exposed to this treatment, the dark skin pigment in the skin (melanin) converts SSR’s highly energetic pulsed light into heat. This conversion of energy causes the pigment to clot. As a result, the melanin flocculates (gathers in small clumps) and is “drawn” to your outer layer of your skin. The problem pigment is then shed in the form of tiny skin flakes.

4. vascular lesions and thread veins

Problems such as vascular lesions and thread veins can be cosmetically – and safely – removed using SSR treatments. The technology’s controlled light pulse is absorbed by the dark-red, oxygen-rich blood of the problem vessel and converted into heat. This energy conversion causes the blood to clot and the vessel to weld shut. Your body’s lymphatic system breaks down the coagulated blood and transports it away naturally.

how long does the ssr laser treatment take to work?

You should reap benefits immediately after each SSR session, although results are cumulative and repeat sessions will likely be required. The effects of the treatment also continue to work over the successive weeks and months. Our skin expert will discuss this with you during your initial consultation. Please also refer to “How many treatments are needed?” further down the page.

what is the downtime for SSr laser treatment?

There is usually no downtime with SHR Permanent Hair Reduction. You can return to work straight after treatment.

does ssr laser treatment hurt?

You may experience warm or tingling sensations, or a fleeting “hot pinch” during treatment, but Skinpulse Super Rejuvenation is otherwise painless and relatively short.

how many sessions of ssr laser treatment are needed?

The number of SSR treatments will vary depending on the issues you are treating. Our skin specialist will help create the best treatment plan for you and monitor your progress during free reviews.

Facial rejuvenation treatments are generally conducted as a course of six to eight sessions with approximately one to two weeks in between. The collagen continues to develop for eight to 12 weeks, so you will continue to see the effects over this time. The course can then be followed with a maintenance treatment after around once a month. Maintaining an appropriate skincare regimen at home is also required for optimising results. Again, you will be advised on this by our skin specialist.

Pigmentation, age spots and rosacea all require a course of three treatments to treat the area. In most instances this will be enough, on occasions, you may need an extra single treatment.

Similarly, thread veins require a course of three treatments. Again, in most instances this will be enough, but on occasions you may need an extra single treatment.
